129th Member Meeting Recap
A big thanks to Ressources naturelles Canada (RNCan) , Esri Canada , CAE , Bentley Systems , and Safe Software for generously supporting the 129th Member Meeting. The event featured insightful discussions on spatial data infrastructure, AI, climate and disaster resilience, marine topics, and OGC APIs. 2024 Gardels Award
Andreas Matheus from Secure Dimensions GmbH has been named the 2024 Gardels Award recipient by previous winners. This honor recognizes his dedicated efforts in security and API design within OGC. His work embodies the values and dedication to spatial technologies that Kenn Gardels exemplified throughout his career and life.
Meet Peter Rabley at the Esri UC

Standards
OGC API – Records Part 1: Core
OGC API – Records is a multi-part standard for managing metadata on the web. Part 1 focuses on read-only access and basic querying of metadata records. Public comments are due by June 30.
CDB v1.3
Version 1.3 introduces three major updates: compatibility with NAS and other feature dictionaries without altering the CDB structure, a revamped Gamma Tutorial, and four new texture types. Public comments are due by July 6.

OGC API – Features – Parts 4 & 5
The OGC API – Features standard offers the capability to create, modify, and query spatial data on the Web. It provides guidelines for APIs to share feature data consistently. Part 4 covers how to add, update, modify, and delete geospatial resources, while Part 5 explains how to describe data using a logical schema. Public comments are due by September 23.

Open Standards Code Sprint
July 10 - 12 | London, UK & Online
This code sprint will be inclusive of all OGC Standards but will feature special tracks focused on data quality & AI, validators, and MapML. Non-coding tasks such as testing, documentation work, and issue reporting will also be available for participants.
Innovation Days DC

The theme for the 2024 Innovation Days DC meeting meeting is Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) Futures, featuring keynote speaker Josh Delmonico of the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FDGC). The goal of this annual event is to advance the OGC vision of building the future of location with community and technology for the good of society.
