T Comm Telematics
With our passion for Transport and Logistics we want to help eliminating inefficiency by making IoT data actionable.
It's summer again, we have successfully completed the first half of the year and it's time for long evenings with family and friends!
The first 6 months have been eventful, we have again developed a lot, welcomed new customers and completed innovative projects.
Enjoy reading and the T Comm team wishes you a great summer!
Over 1.100 ACTION trailers with T Comm!
Action is Europe's fastest growing non-food discounter with currently 2.300 stores in 11 countries. All stores are delivered several times a week from distribution centers in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Poland and Slovakia. For this purpose, ACTION uses special double-deck trailers that can transport 60% more - a contribution to sustainability.?
Until now, all ACTION trailers traveling abroad and brought to the stores by the distribution centers' transport service partners were already equipped with T Comm telematics systems. In June, a further 170 trailers were added for the Echt and Zwaagdijk distribution centers - this means that we have broken the magic barrier of 1.100 trailers with T Comm telematics equipment!
All data is directly integrated into ORTEC and SAP for optimal use of information to increase efficiency, utilization and sustainability! These are e.g. beside the live location of the trailers the door status in connection with geofences, the control of the battery status for the tail lift and automated reports about the downtimes.
Not only ACTION's customers are guaranteed to leave the stores with a smile, but now also the employees of the transport and logistics department!
Heitrans takes the next step and invests in higher monitoring standards & cold chain efficiency
Heiploeg International B.V. , the leading European shrimp supplier, has established its own transportation company called Heitrans B.V. , specializing in refrigerated and frozen transport. For many years, Heitrans has been using T Comm's temperature monitoring solutions with complete satisfaction.
During our regular project meetings, we jointly identified further potential for optimization. For example, alarms are to be generated on the basis of the cooling machine data, such as on the setpoint set. In addition, important data such as the operating hours or the run mode, as well as the mileage and axle loads are required for maintenance and calculation purposes. To meet these requirements, TComm has equipped the trailers with the latest T Comm hardware generation and new wireless sensors over the last few weekends.
The central unit is fully configured to connect our wireless door and temperature sensors. With the standard connection to the EBS modulator, the mileage and axle loads are displayed in the T Comm dashboard and via the API interface in the TMS/ERP application.
This allows Heitrans to monitor scheduling in the office or outside office hours via an Apple or Android smartphone, tracking positions, temperatures and alarms. This is important to continuously ensure the quality of temperature-controlled transport. With the Android driver app, the driver can see the temperature and set point of his trailer via his smartphone or on his on-board computer.
Hofmann Group of Companies expands the use of T Comm
Our systems have been in use at the Hofmann Group's hazardous materials warehouse for over a year - now the family-owned company with over 60 years of experience in transport and logistics has decided to expand the use of the T Comm system to other business areas.
Among other aspects, ensuring the quality of the goods entrusted to customers also depends on the accurate monitoring and documentation of temperature and humidity.
Since many products have different temperature requirements during storage and transport, the Hofmann Group needed a partner who could seamlessly integrate the monitoring process for the different temperature ranges. In addition, many stored products have high requirements for constant humidity, which must also be monitored and documented.
As T Comm was able to meet both requirements, the decision was quite easy and was also positively influenced by the trouble-free installation, comprehensive support and the good qualification of the personnel and the system. In the meantime, 8 warehouses and storage areas are equipped with a total of more than 40 sensors, which provide reliable data and are transparently presented to the customer via the T Comm ACT platform.
T Comm in the press and on stage
Are you curious about the importance of temperature monitoring and wireless sensors for Medispace's Medical Trailer? Read more about it in this article from the German Transport platform Eurotransport.de: "Patients temporarily enter Medispace!"
T Comm was also represented again at Trimble's ITT event, which was held under the motto: Increasing efficiency and sustainability with intelligent technology.
We were again able to show many existing customers and interested parties what solutions we offer in this context, for example: fuel sensors, use of chillers based on environmental zones, sustainable use of trailers, alarming based on battery level and so on. Another great and well attended event!
