An Alpha Lubricator or ME Lube operating in ACC-mode (Adaptive Cylinder oil Control)?adapts the lubricating oil feed rate to the fuel oil sulphur content and the engine load.?

The ACC-mode has been the standard on MAN B&W two-stroke engines since 2004.

This cylinder lubrication, shown in the figure is based on a lubricator which injects a specific volume of oil into each cylinder for each (or for every second, third, etc.) revolution. The oil fed to the injectors is pressurized by means of Alpha lubricator on each cylinder, equipped with small multi-piston pumps. The amount of oil fed to the injectors can be finely tuned with an adjusting screw, which limits the length of the piston stroke. The cylinder lube oil consumption in ME type engines, with electronic lubricators, has come down to 0.7 gm / BHP hr.

Overhaul and Maintenance Strategy Based on our service experience and our guideline for overhaul intervals, the following parts must be replaced every 5 years or 32,000 R/H to ensure optimal and troublefree operation.

Thermography is the use of a thermal imaging camera to examine any areas where heat build-up can cause equipment damage or fire. All electrical circuits, machinery, and so on are scanned with the thermographic camera. Any fault (hot areas) is then photographed. This information is then downloaded into our computer system for analysis. Areas of concern are highlighted in color and temperature ranges, white is the highest temperature.
