AI/Journalism Hackathon at UC Berkeley: Harnessing AI to Enhance Trust and Deepen Engagement in Local Communities
Artificial Intelligence (AI) will not replace humans in the newsroom, even as emerging technologies continue to rapidly evolve and grow more capable day by day. Instead, new tools will help journalists and others to unlock and share information, more easily scale new media projects and solutions, and become vastly more productive. This was one takeaway from a three-day hackathon hosted by Hacks/Hackers and UC Berkeley Journalism that brought journalists, documentary filmmakers, technologists and others together to explore how AI can help enhance trust and deepen engagement in local communities.
