Sneak peek
The end of the year is a good time to take stock. Annual goals, finances, health, relationships...the aspects are many. We started with a recap of our No Code Days conference, and since we like to be transparent this recap was recorded in Draft Rozmowy . The event was respectable, but this next one is going to be something ??. We're looking forward to it! A big part of that is technology, which is changing at a crazy pace. Just look at last week's news ??

[?? SharePoint ??] Very often when working with SharePoint (especially when developing solutions in Power Platform), we reach a point where it is required to block users from accessing certain data. In the case of entire items and documents, you can of course use built-in permissions (although here it is worth remembering the performance limitations associated with inheritance blocking). For columns or views, you already have to combine. While this only strongly reduces the potential risk of data leakage or loss, it is enough in many cases. I recommend an instruction that shows the whole process: Locking down SharePoint so only Integrated App can... - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com)
[?? Power Automate ??] Matthew Devaney has apparently set his sights on writing his own documentation for Power Automate. After a great series on best practices, it's time to document the features. First up are those related to working with text: All Power Automate Text Functions (With Examples) (matthewdevaney.com)
[?? Power Apps ??] Cards, Fabric, Copilot...see a summary of recent changes in Power Apps. I've already written about all of them in the pages of this newsletter, but there are so many that it's worth remembering the most important ones: What’s new: Power Apps November 2023 Feature Update | Microsoft Power Apps

One of the most interesting updates at the intersection of Power Apps and Power Automate is undoubtedly cards. I recommend an article that shows this topic from cover to cover with an example: Challenge 023 | Cards for Power Apps (powerplatformchallenge.com)
[?? Power Pages ??] Power Pages are too expensive. This is the most common phrase I hear in the context of this solution. Are they for sure? When do they make sense and when do they not? When to build your own solution and when to fold on Power Pages? These questions are answered by this article: Are Power Pages licenses too expensive?
[?? Entra ??] Have you happened to miss a notification in the Authenticator app when trying to log in to Microsoft services? Perhaps this is not necessarily an application error, but an intended defense mechanism. I recommend an article that shows various lesser-known features of the authentication process in Entra: Emphasizing Security by Default with Advanced Microsoft Authenticator Features. - Microsoft Community Hub
[?? Power Platform ??] In the coming weeks there will certainly be no shortage of news from the world of Power Platform. The just-concluded MPPC23 conference brought a lot of them. To start and warm up, I suggest a short video summary and watch the official YT channel from which it comes:
