A new?report ?from Deloitte, one of the?Big Four ?accounting firms in the world, titled ‘Metaverse in Asia’ estimates that the metaverse can add up to $1.4 trillion per year to the GDP of Asia by 2035. The report further predicts that the metaverse economy itself is expected to grow to a staggering $13 trillion market by 2030. While these are ambitious assertions, Deloitte is known to be reliable in its forecasts.
Although metaverse platforms as well as huge backers of the concept (such as Meta) are struggling right now, certain trends suggest that the space is really about to explode in a couple of years.?In the last month alone, we saw two global apparel brands (Adidas ?and?Nike ) release their own metaverse platforms and a gaming behemoth (Sony ) file a patent to use digital ledger technology in its games.?
The development of the metaverse is of special interest to us because ultimately all Web3 gaming will be a part of the metaverse experience. However, we believe that the metaverse space still needs major technological breakthroughs to make it compelling for the mass market.
Arsenal began closed testing on play store
Industry leaders have many avenues to explore for driving the adoption of web3 gaming, but the priority should be to bring as many great titles to mobile devices as possible. The number of mobile gamers in the world is double that of desktop gamers, however, web3 gaming is still heavily focused on PCs. While it's understandable that the developers want to perfect a game before it is released to the public, it's high time that some quality web3 games come to mobile devices. Last week, Fabwelt?announced ?the launch of closed testing for its flagship FPS Arsenal, and it will soon be available for public download on the Play Store. This is a great opportunity to showcase to players how far web3 gaming has come in the last two years.?
