Convening to Act: Quantum Resistant Cryptography in Software

The National Cryptologic Foundation, through partnership with the National Security Agency, has been sponsoring Convening to Act, a series of events, each of which focused on a current or upcoming challenge in cybersecurity or cryptography.

On March 11th, InfoSec Global’s cryptographer, Victoria de Quehen, and InfoSec Global Federal's Technical Strategist, Philip George , attended Convening to Act: Quantum Resistant Cryptography in Software. This event featured talks and panels involving government, industry, and academia on the upcoming software migration to quantum-resistant cryptography, focusing on use in the Defense Industrial Base and small and medium-sized businesses.

The main steps of the upcoming migration to PQC that were discussed are:

  1. Scan for currently used cryptography artifacts
  2. Protect confidential information (avoid harvest and decrypt attacks)
  3. Create a priority roadmap
  4. Switch to crypto-agile products
