Last few days News papers and social media sites are reporting efforts for development of test kits, Ventilators, PPE etc to combat Covid 19 effectively. Organisations, Innovators are taking challenge burning midnight oil to come out with possible indigenous solutions. many may be struggling with more complex problems or issues. As I was reading PPE ( Personal protective equipment ) attracted my attention reported in Times of India / ET.

The News paper has reported that Indigenous manufacturer is desirable. I was pondering my mind how to approach the problem or even if I wish to undertake reverse engineering what information I would need. the reported requirement is as follows:

2. Eye Gear : 1 Millions
3. Nitrile Gloves : 2 Millions
4. Coverall : 1 Millions
5. Triple Layer surgical Masks : 2 Millions
6. Digital thermal scanners : 100

In order to take the development the first thing the innovator may need is the specifications of :

1. The Product say cover all
2. Specifications of Materials used say Material. Weight per Sq m etc
3. Specifications of Key processes used like joining for cover all
4. the specifications where no compromise can be made
5. Possible sizes, pictures, drawings, development drawings ( Assurance for samples for study or non destructive or destructive testing)
6. Any information from manufacturers on above or web links ( collate information at one place) . it may so happen that an SME does not know manufacturers world wide
