As part of this investment, Belle Vue has taken delivery of five new 53-seater coaches and has ordered 18 more, expected to join its fleet over the next year. The coaches are supplied through the UK distributor Pelican Bus + Coach.
From 1 June 2024, Transport Scotland has announced that the country’s four largest cities have been fully enforcing Low Emission Zones (LEZs) to improve air quality and public health by restricting the most polluting vehicles. The Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Fiona Hyslop, updated the Scottish Parliament on the initiative, emphasising the unanimous scientific consensus that there is no safe level of air pollution. She highlighted research from the University of Dundee linking high pollution levels to increased respiratory admissions in children.
In order to promote cycling and enhance inter-modality in the region, ?le-de-France Mobilités has announced that it is set to increase bicycle parking near key Parisian stations, adding over 3,000 new spaces in the coming weeks. Currently, there are only about 100 spaces. This expansion aims to provide more transport options, particularly as the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games approach.
