News: AFI shortlisted for two prestigious IAPA Awards

The International Awards for Powered Access 2024 (IAPAs) shortlist has been revealed, and AFI Rentals has been shortlisted for two awards.

AFI-Rentals has been named a finalist for Access Rental Company of the Year, and Peter Hazell is up for the IPAF Training Instructor of the Year.

The 2024 edition of the IAPAs promises to showcase the industry’s commitment to safety, sustainability and innovation.

The awards ceremony will take place on 14 March in Copenhagen, Denmark, on the same day as the IPAF Summit.

News: New Carbon Offsetting Pledge

We are pleased to inform you that we’ve launched a Carbon Offsetting Scheme, which means you can offset the carbon footprint associated with the delivery and collection of all your rented powered access machines. The Carbon Offsetting Scheme enables all our valued customers to offset the carbon footprint associated with the delivery and collection of rented powered access machines through the trusted carbon offset climate projects community, Ecologi | B Corp?

Our Carbon Offsetting Pledge to you:

Each quarter, for every customer ordering online, AFI will offset 200% of the emissions associated with the delivery of their machine by investing in renewable energy offset programmes. AFI will similarly invest in offsetting 100% of the emissions generated by collection for each machine off-hired online.

As you know, receiving a quote and placing an order with us online is easy via our customer App and Portal. Online off-hiring is quick with the scan of the QR barcode on every one of our rental machines. We have already made our first green investment with Ecologi, covering online activity in Q2-2023, investing in renewable energy projects, verified by the Verified Carbon Standard, which offset more than 100 tonnes of CO2.

We believe transparency and objective measurement are critical to assessing progress in sustainability, so we were delighted to receive a Silver Award and score in the top 20% of businesses rated by EcoVadis. However, we recognise this is a journey of continuous improvement, so we’re proud to add our Carbon Offsetting Scheme now. All customers who hire and off-hire online with AFI are assured that 150% of the environmental impact of their deliveries and collections with us is offset. The Carbon Offsetting Scheme enhances our position as a sustainable business in the UK powered access rental sector.

Featured: Van-Mounts: VTL-135-F in action

It's great to see our Van Mounts everywhere now. Our Group Business Development Manager Burhan Bhat spied these ones at Leeds Skelton Lake Services on the M1 . He has noticed that our van mounts are becoming more common in the area and sees clients utilising our vans to their fullest capacity quite frequently throughout the week.

The specification for all our vans is Versalift United Kingdom Limited's VTL 135-F Boom on the 3.5-tonne Ford Transit Chassis with a Walk-in Basket. The working height is 13.5m, horizontal outreach is 8.6m, and lifting capacity is 230 kg. The van has a payload capacity of 325 kg after accounting for two people and 60 litres of fuel. In the opinion of most of our clients, these Versalift United Kingdom Limited Vans on a Ford Motor Company chassis are currently the best product in the market. AFI-Rentals continues to refresh the fleet with these vans, and most of our clients take them on long-term hires.
