A national media company adopted crowdsourced testing in preparation for the release of their new mobile app. The results are in, with over 50 improvement opportunities identified during a crowdsourced testing cycle.

The media comnpany was able to gain access to a global pool of testers through crowdsourced testing. Crowdsprint's testers explored the new app from the perspective of a typical customer, reporting on issues they encountered.

One hundred and twenty defects were reported in total.

Were these defects good news or bad news?

The good news about discovering such a significant number of defects prior to launch is that true customers of the app would never know about them. Due to using crowdsourced testing rather than traditional testing methods, this media company benefitted from double the test coverage, at half the cost, in half the time. They were able to accelerate their time to market with a vastly improved product.

What is the good news for clients who opt into crowdsourced testing?

Crowdsourced testing provided this client with usability suggestions centered on customer experience and ease of use. The delivery of these recommendations is provided in a clear format, supported by data and graphics.

Other crowdtesting benefits:

  • Products tested on real devices with real users.
  • Vastly improved defect detection rates (comparative to traditional methods).
  • Accelerates time to market for new product launches.
  • Testing cycles are fully-managed by Test and Delivery Managers.

Professional management of crowdsourced testing ensures quality results throughout the process: from scoping requirements and test plan development, to selecting your testers, managing the test cycles, preparing and delivering reports. What is the good news for testers?
