EFA 2024 Message from Program Chair.

Dear EFA members and friends,

The next meeting of the European Finance Association will take place in Bratislava, Slovakia on August 21-24, 2024. You can find the conference registration link, along with the conference program, at https://lnkd.in/e-hdqEHF

In light of recent news headlines about the unprecedented assassination attempt on the Slovak PM, we would like to remind you that Slovakia is very safe:

• Slovakia’s homicide rate is lower compared to most Western European countries, including UK, France, and Germany; it is also 3x lower compared to Canada and 9x lower compared to the United States (see, for example, here https://lnkd.in/ekDxXj5C)-
• Slovakia is a member of NATO, European Union, Eurozone, and the Schengen zone.
• The conference will take place in the center of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Bratislava is located 45 minutes by car from the Schwechat airport in Vienna, Austria.
