News from ABBARCH Architecture Inc.

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of one of ABBARCH’s founding principals, Michael Burton-Brown. Mike’s extraordinary career spans an impressive five decades, encompassing two continents and thousands of projects. As one of the founders of ABBARCH, Mike has left an indelible mark on the careers of countless architects under his leadership. We will miss Mike’s mentorship, words of encouragement, and his positive and can-do attitude.

Kevin Desforges has left ABBARCH to focus on one of his passions – land development. Kevin joined us in 2017 and although it was a short-lived partnership, we thank him for all his efforts and collaboration.

Now, with great excitement, we announce the following leadership changes at ABBARCH:

Mehdi Rassaf,?Principal M.Arch. OAA LEED? Green Assoc.

Mehdi Rassaf is a Principal at ABBARCH with over two decades of project experience in various building sectors including retail, commercial, institutional, recreational, and residential. With a Master of Architecture from the University of Kassel in Germany, Mehdi is a registered architect with the Ontario Association of Architects and a LEED Green Associate.

Mehdi first joined ABBARCH in 2006 and was subsequently promoted to the role of Associate. During this time Mehdi oversaw the design and construction of numerous retail & commercial projects. After a brief hiatus from the firm in 2022, Mehdi rejoined ABBARCH in 2023 as Principal and Studio Lead. In his current position, his focus is on the management of project budgets and deliverables and building project teams tailored to the unique requirements of each project. He is committed to maintaining a high standard of documentation and delivering quality projects to clients.

Stephane Cassan,?Associate M.Arch. OAA OAQ

Stephane Cassan brings over two decades of professional experience on retail, commercial, mix-use, high-rise residential, and public sector projects. He is a registered architect in Quebec and Ontario and holds a Master of Architecture from the Toulouse National School of Architecture in France. Since joining ABBARCH in 2015, Stephane has led and contributed to a wide range of projects, taking charge of all project phases. His exceptional project management skills, unwavering dedication to fostering strong client relationships, and active participation in the Quality Assurance process on projects have established him as a valuable member of the company's leadership team. Stephane is fluent in both English and French.
