News Brief: Best Gift Ever Campaign, Scratch Card Limit, May Madness Raffle

In June, the UK National Lottery will launch its ‘Best Gift Ever’ campaign with a retail takeover, encouraging customers to buy physical draw tickets or scratchcards for occasions like birthdays. The campaign includes playstation inserts, posters, wobblers, and counter cards.

Starting October 1st, the UK National Lottery's in-store Scratchcard purchase cap will be 10 per transaction, matching the online limit. This change aims to prevent excessive play while allowing players to purchase multiple games as gifts. The initiative aligns with Allwyn's commitment to player protection and coincides with their 'Best Gift Ever' campaign.

Allwyn has introduced new rules requiring winners of £500 to £50,000 to claim their prizes online within 180 days. Winners must provide personal information and a Prize Claim Form and send their physical ticket to the office. The change follows the Post Office's decision to stop paying prizes in this range. However, delays have been reported due to the new process, prompting Allwyn to increase staff and trial new procedures to expedite payouts. Prizes under £500 can still be claimed in-store, and winners have up to 7 days after the claim period ends to submit their claim.

The new scratch card game, "Maxi Black Jack," offered by Fran?aise des jeux (FDJ), allows players to win up to 900,000 euros. This "phygital" game combines physical scratching with optional digital play. Winners can choose to stop and claim their winnings or enter a digital stage to multiply them by nine. It's FDJ's fifth such game.

The Arizona Lottery, under CEO Alec Esteban Thomson, actively supports heat relief efforts across the state. Collaborating with Governor Hobbs and Dr. Eugene Livar, they allocate proceeds from ticket sales to fund programs aiding vulnerable populations during extreme heat. These initiatives include supporting Healthy Families, Homeless and Transitional Services, and Public Transportation, ensuring access to essential resources and transportation to cooling centers.

Wisconsin Lottery launches May Madness Raffle with a $50,000 top prize, along with two $10,000 awards and 815 other payouts. Tickets are priced at $5 each, with 75,000 available, selling quickly. Purchase deadline May 30 or until sold out, available at all lottery retailers. Drawing on May 31, winning numbers posted online and at retailers. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 75,000.
