Kenya's WRC Safari Rally fuels intra-African Tourism push
The Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) is gearing up for the upcoming FIA World Rally Championship by launching a targeted marketing campaign. They aim to leverage the motorsport event to promote Kenya and the wider East African region as a prime tourist destination, with a particular focus on attracting visitors from neighbouring countries.

Minister conducts site inspection at Lighthouse Precinct project
Tourism Minister Patricia De Lille visited the Lighthouse Precinct project in the Cape Agulhas National Park on Tuesday to inspect progress on site and to impress on all stakeholders the importance of working together to grow the country’s tourism offerings.?
The project is one of many being implemented by the Department of Tourism across the country as part of the Tourism Sector Master Plan’s objectives to stimulate demand by investing in new and maintaining existing tourism infrastructure and attractions. Read More

Auric Air Announces Partnership with Surf Air Mobility for Electric Powertrain Supply to our Cessna Caravan Fleet
AURIC AIR SERVICES LIMITED , a Tanzania-based regional air operator flying both scheduled and charter services across East Africa has entered into a MOU with Surf Air Mobility Inc, a leading regional air mobility platform to upgrade up to 12 of Auric Air’s Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft with Surf Air’s proprietary electrified powertrain technology once certified.
Surf Air now has approximately 13% of the Cessna Caravan market in Africa under agreement to upgrade to its electrified powertrains, once certified.
Surf Air is developing Supplemental Type Certifications for both hybrid and fully electric variants of the Cessna Grand Caravan. With target reductions of up to 50% in direct operating costs and 100% in carbon emissions for the fully electric powertrain, Surf Air believes the impact for other air operators around the world will be profound as the cost and environmental impact of flying are significantly reduced. After years of dedicated service, the Tourism Department bids farewell to David Germain, our esteemed Director of Marketing for Africa, and the Americas. David has played a pivotal role in our team, significantly contributing to our marketing endeavours and overall success.
David boasts an impressive 40-year career in the industry.
He started his journey at Travel Services Seychelles (TSS) before joining Creole Travel Services in 2005 following the merger of TSS and Creole Holidays. His expertise led him to overseas postings in Africa, where he oversaw the markets of Zambia and Botswana.
It was in 2006, Seventeen years ago that David joined the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB), now the Tourism Department, where he spearheaded business operations for Africa. Later, he assumed the added responsibility of the Americas and served as the Regional Director for Africa & the Americas. During his tenure, he successfully implemented the department’s marketing strategies, notably promoting Seychelles as a premier island holiday destination for American and African travellers.
