Newipe? Next Generation Baby Wipes Wins ‘Special Jury Award’ at ISO Green Transformation Awards!

The winners of the 2024 ISO Green Transformation Awards were announced with the participation of Mehmet ?zhaseki, Türkiye’s Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and Davut Gül, Governor of Istanbul.

Sapro, the leading company in private label wet wipe production and export in Türkiye, has received the 'Jury Special Award' in the 'Environmentally Friendly Product' category at the "ISO Green Transformation Awards 2024" organized by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) to award industrial companies that make sustainability the focal point of their production processes.?

A total of 26 industrial establishments were awarded in 6 categories, including jury special awards, following the meticulous evaluations of the ISO Green Transformation Awards jury, composed of competent names from the academic world and industrialists.

Newipe? has won the ‘Jury Special Award’ in the ‘Environmentally Friendly Product’ category at the ‘ISO Green Transformation Awards’ with its compostable and biodegradable fabric, 100% natural ingredients, 100% recyclable packaging, and environmentally friendly production technology that reduces its carbon footprint.

Receiving the award from ISO Board of Directors Chairman Erdal Bah??van, Sapro General Manager Murat G?nül said, "This award confirms Sapro's environmentally sensitive production approach and commitment to sustainable products. Our next-generation baby wipe Newipe?, which we produce sustainably with all-natural ingredients and next-generation viscose fabric, helps to protect the environmental balance by integrating into the natural cycle. Emphasizing that they brought the Newipe? Next Generation Viscose fabric to life with a 30 million Euro investment in 2022, G?nül said, "Newipe?, which has been awarded in the environmentally friendly product category, is an environmentally and future-friendly product with its natural structure that dissolves quickly in nature and does not contain plastic. Our product, developed with environmental sustainability awareness, contains 100% renewable plant fibers. It can be broken down into non-toxic components that will not harm the environment when recycled, and can easily turn into organic matter when dispersed. Newipe? is produced by reducing carbon emissions by taking some of its components into the production process without any pre-processing compared to other viscose fabrics, it can be completely biodegraded in nature more quickly and can be composted."

Stating that Newipe?'s compostability has been certified with 'TüV OK Compost Home' and 'TüV OK Compost Industrial' certificates, Murat G?nül said, "We are among the leading companies in Türkiye that invest the most in sustainability in our field. We use 100% Green Energy obtained from renewable and zero-emission sources in our facility. In addition to the line investment that increased our capacity by 100% in Lotus fabric production and 40% in wet wipe production in the last 3 years, we have also established one of the few industrial hygienic water treatment systems in Türkiye, designed with the latest technology and providing high-level hygiene treatment. We have implemented all the investments we have planned. Our institution will continue to carry out new studies in line with our goals in terms of sustainability."
