New York Series: "NYPD"

Every metropolitan area that I have been blessed to visit this year is different. The people, the attitudes, the sounds, sights and smells all have their uniqueness to the surrounding area. In any country, there will be regional differences. One can even say this is true for induvial states within our nation. Northern Vs Southern California, The Bronx contrasted against Manhattan, the casualness of Flagstaff against a seriousness of Phoenix, cities within the same state but offering their uniqueness and qualities within the community. One thing I have noticed in the way of similarities is a high consistency in local law enforcement.

Whether it was LAPD, LA County Sheriffs, the boys from Vegas Metro I ran into in March or the gentlemen with BHPD, the encounters were similar, the dialogue almost scripted and the mannerisms provokingly the same. Including these officers from NYPD. To be clear, when I say scripted I am referring to the questions asked throughout my dialogue with these men and women in uniform, by no means am I referring to a rehearsed response from them.

For me, there is a warm comfort in this fact. Knowing that wherever my travels may take me, there is a consistency in the integrity that I see in law enforcement. Having no doubt that if ever I was in a state of crisis or need, I could count on anyone of these courageous men or women to have my back. As I cast my thoughts forward, I am eager to engage with additional members of this family that currently numbers over 900,000 and to give my testimony to all those that will hear or read it.
