Governor Kathy Hochul recently signed into law S.9427-A/A.10477, establishing a statewide pay transparency law for New York State. The new legislation requires employers to list salary ranges for all advertised jobs and promotions in an effort to promote equity in the workplace. This law marks an important milestone in the state's efforts toward creating greater economic stability and fairness in the workforce.?
The new law is intended to increase transparency in how employers compensate their employees, giving more workers the opportunity to seek better wages by understanding what other companies offer in salary.
