New York doubles down on 100% cannabis standard
We’ve said it before and now New York has made it official: the future of cannabis manufactured goods is 100% cannabis ingredients. The public comment period is over — New York State has banned the use of botanical and synthetic terpenes in its supply chain. New York’s medical cannabis program provided a similar statement last summer and has been effectuating the approach throughout 2021. Now, the practice is set to become regulation.

Can terpenes be a promising alternative to pain pills? Quite possibly.?
New research from the University of Arizona Health Sciences in the Comprehensive Pain and Addiction Center have found that terpenes mimic cannabinoids and produce similar pain-relieving effects. Very little is known about terpenes’ relationship with pain, hence the research.?
Behavioral studies in mouse models revealed that when administered individually, four terpenes lowered pain sensitivity, and had at least three of the four classic cannabinoid side effects: reduced pain sensation, lowered body temperature, reduced movement and catalepsy, a freezing behavior related to the psychoactive effects of cannabinoids.?
