New Year's Resolutions when it comes to food? Count me out!
I can't imagine how many searches on google there have been over the past few days regarding New Year's resolutions. Us humans are naturally more capable of developing a positive habit and routine at the beginning of a new year. Bettering yourself is important, but keep in mind we are all our own worst enemies and harshest critics. Don't be too hard on yourself with setting unrealistic expectations revolving around the year ahead, especially when it comes to eating. Instead of New Year's resolutions, I have jotted down: "My 2019 Rules to Live by". These aren't lofty goals such as obtaining a six pack. Why would this be an objective for somebody that lives to eat? Instead, I jotted down, eat more vegetables, and stick to intermittent fasting cycles. Being one that goes on a long run just so I can crush tons of carbs afterwards, when you eat is as important as what you eat. Over the past few years I have stuck for the most part with only eating during six hour windows everyday.
For the longest time I always struggled with avoiding late night fridge raids. My appetite always increases as the day goes on. I decided to cater to my weakness and just revolve my eating times around later in the day. You will be amazed with how much your metabolism sky rockets when your body goes sixteen-eighteen hours straight everyday without food. Not only does this burn fat, but it is great for mental clarity, living a longer life, and most importantly allows you to treat yourself to foods that you enjoy. All of our bodies are made up differently, but it is a scientific fact that intermittent fasting does work, and is the most realistic foodie way of life that I can portray for everybody here that will keep you smiling. If you decide to go on a diet to start 2019, please make it one that doesn't involve you hating life because your taste buds are prevented from going wild on the foods that you covet so much. Have a happy and healthy New Year everybody, and most importantly, keep enjoying the food you love!
