MBA talent update - Students and recent graduates

The Class of 2025 joined the Nice campus in September 2024. This year's class counts 67 MBAs from 25 countries, 8 years average experience. 55% of them come from STEM backgrounds and a record-breaking 57% are women! The diversity of sectors and experience is incredible. This year's class is inspired by Parrain Michael Miramond , EDHEC Alumnus 1997. They enjoyed a teambuilding day at Iles de Lérins in Cannes, a sustainability learning expedition to Porto, and a lovely holiday party with Candace Johnson. In between, they completed their intense first term, as an engaged and hard-working class, asking great questions and with a lively extra-curricular life. Find out more here

The Class of 2024 counted 78 MBAs from 30 countries and 7 years average experience. They completed their MBA in September and had Diane Bouzebiba as their Marraine. These graduates face a tough MBA job market with slowed hiring in Consulting, Tech and Finance globally. Good news has been coming in recently and we expect uptake in the new year. Some amazing profiles in this class, a lot of fresh talent ready to apply their MBA learnings in global roles. Among their most recent employers: Amadeus JACK WOLFSKIN RBC Wealth Management VusionGroup Spark ECONiX Research Burjeel Holdings SUEZ Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise,

The Class of 2023 joined a variety of sectors mainly in Europe (78%) in Consulting (21%), Tech (18%) and Finance (16%) in top firms like L'Oréal Deloitte KPMG Amadeus Roche Hilti Group Capgemini Invent delaware International Bayer AXA PwC to name a few. This class recently celebrated their graduation in Lille, with a keynote speech from their Marraine, Amélie Vidal-Simi , EDHEC Alumna 1989, who shared inspiring words for their future. Watch the EDHEC Celebration on youtube here (the GMBA graduates appear at 2:05!)

If you have jobs to fill, internships or projects, contact Spencer Hamilton in Career Services. We have already hosted many alumni on campus, starting day one with Jason Grant and continuing with Mock Interviews, Alumni spotlights and the Hackathon in Paris. Heartfelt thanks to all the alumni who support us every day from Admissions through to career support. We are excited to propose an event to bridge generations in Nice this spring, look out for it!

MBA women rising

Our strategy for reaching parity has paid off, Forté Foundation and BusinessBecause by GMAC recognised EDHEC's MBA as one of the Top-3 MBAs for women worldwide! Our efforts took off since we set in place a strategy nearly 5 years ago, the percentage of women pursuing our MBA has increased year-on -year since then. The incoming class of 2025 counts 57% women versus a 42% worldwide average for MBA programs.

Some of the initiatives put in place:

  • Increasing scholarships for women to bridge the pay gap when considering an MBA, both with our Women in Leadership scholarship as well as Swati Kansal Memorial Scholarship from the EDHEC Foundation (awarded to Disha Tandon this year) and Forté Foundation Fellowship (awarded to Hoa L. ) To learn more about the Forte Fellowship read more here
  • Naming Robert Baker as our Diversity Disruptor in Residence, who mentors the school and our students on issues of gender diversity at work, male allyship, and inclusion.
  • Partnering with PWN French Riviera and Forté Foundation
  • Enhancing learning and awareness by including two courses on Diversity & Inclusion in the core MBA curriculum integrated into the Lead360 leadership development program
  • Encouraging student action through clubs like the Social Impact or Women in Leadership
  • Working with marketing to ensure gender-balanced communications

Specialization tracks evolving with the times

The AI & Innovation Track (formerly Digital Innovation Track) is currently undergoing a major overhaul. Professor Michelle Sisto, who spent the past year exploring AI in education and business and is working with EDHEC on a new AI Centre, is putting together an exciting track. Electives will focus more heavily on AI and students will even try their hand at some development, with the help of AI of course. This track should allow MBAs to dive deeper into the promising and pioneering world of AI, which has already had a major impact on business worldwide.

The Global Finance Track will also undergo some changes to reflect the evolving world of finance. We will introduce electives in Private Equity and Climate Finance. The latter will be taught by EDHEC permanent faculty and will share the knowledge built up by EDHEC Climate Institute .

Entrepreneurship and sustainability in the spotlight

The Entrepreneurship Track will continue to partner with EDHEC Entrepreneurs, this collaboration began 2 years ago with the help of Dorian Lacluque Startup Program Manager at EDHEC Entrepreneurs and Associate Dean of EDHEC's Centre for Responsible Entrepreneurship Ludovic Cailluet . Two very tangible outcomes of this collaboration: our #1 worldwide rank for entrepreneurship by Poets & Quants, and the exciting news that 2 MBAs were accepted into EDHEC Incubators this year, congratulations to Sar Gaz co-founders Yassin Chami and Bernard Leal Acu?a . The class of 2024 saw a large number of MBA graduates go on to either start their business or work in a startup.

Sustainability remains core to the GMBA program, with an increase in the number of teaching hours and applied cases with relevancy to sustainability. It is largely thanks to this increase that we have maintained our top-notch rank as a sustainability-focused MBA.

This year marks the 4th year of the Sustainable Impact Challenge. 16 teams are currently working on sustainability-focused projects for a diverse group of firms like IBM SBM Offshore 施耐德电气 Kautex Textron BIOHM APF France handicap LOUIS DUPONT - Management de transition Astarte Capital Partners LLP Searoutes and Fédération Fran?aise de Vol en Planeur Send us your sustainable impact challenges to solve this summer for the next September intake!

Gearing up for the AI revolution

This year we introduced an AI Bootcamp to the MBA run by AI Expert in Residence Greger Ottosson and Professor Michelle Sisto where newly arrived MBAs could explore and practice using different AI tools to enhance productivity, writing, creativity and research. Michelle tested out AI applications and using avatars on our learning management system to enhance her course. In spring, the core course AI for business, taught by Ghassan-Paul Yacoub, PhD will explore the organizational side of AI, how businesses can integrate AI into their processes, put on guardrails when it comes to ethical and legal challenges, and understand the impact AI will have on business, the environment and society moving forward.

Professors, curriculum & the MBA team

Beloved Global MBA Associate Professor and Head of Management Faculty Inge De Clippeleer, was named as P&Q's Top 40 under 40 professors. Inge was nominated as an outstanding professor for her energy and enthusiasm, her ability to build confidence and provide valuable insights to help MBAs build their self-awareness and become better leaders and team players. Inge also developed the Lead360 personal and leadership development program in the Global MBA. A well-deserved honor! Read the article.

The MBA Careers Team welcomed Lamis Bel Haj Frej to Spencer Hamilton 's team, replacing Jennifer Pasquier while she takes care of her newborn baby. Mark Davies joined as Head of International Recruitment, along with Melanie COLMART and Yuting CAI working closely with Nikki HARLE Fran?oise Evangelisti and Yulia Prokopiv to recruit world-class MBAs. Bianca Muston Barbara Awuakye continue to lead the way in MBA Experience, while Sandra Richez faithfully charts the course and keeps things afloat.

This year sees old favorites and new professors join our ranks, plus the return of Professor Michelle Sisto to teach Data Analysis and Prof. Dr. Thomas Wunder teaching CSR and Sustainability. New faculty joined, with Lisa Shifei Liu from Warwick University teaching core Financial and Managerial Accounting, Kevin Hill from HEC Montreal will teach Negotiation, Alena Kostyk will take on an elective in Digital Marketing, Jana Thiel in the Entrepreneurship Track.
