New Years Eve 2023 - 'There are no losers, only finishers'

The year may have bee good to some, maybe not great for others but here we are at the finish line.

Reflecting on the year, the biggest change in my life was the move my new home. I still remember my boss asking me if I would prefer relocating to New York or Bangalore. Eight months later, I find myself in India which has been the most amazing experience of my life. Leaving aside the traffic, I find the chaos, vibrancy, and the color of this progressive nation to keep exciting me every single day. I have met some amazing friends, taken my sports to another level, and be a part of India’s journey to becoming one of the great superpowers of the world.

If I were to share a few takeaways from the year, they would be as follows:

1)???? Life is short and unpredictable so seize the moment and don’t wait until you are too old to do the things you always wanted to do.

2)???? Love unconditionally and do it without expecting anything in return. Its amazing how love, kindness and gratitude liberates you so that you can live a life that is full.

3)???? Take calculated risks and back yourself. There is no perfect time to act, and the longer we wait for our stars to align, the further we are from reaching our goals. You may make mistakes but the faster you make those mistakes, the quicker you can learn from them.

4)???? Take care of your body, mind, and soul as it is the only home you will have. Happiness is an internal game and unless you can bring vitality and energy into your life, you may struggle to stay in the race.

5)???? Consistency is the formular for success. Do the things that need to be done every day. Success is not a one-time event but a journey that it built on sticking to your process, and doing the hard yards even when you don’t feel like it.

6)???? Makes someone life better because of your actions. You may call it ‘purpose’ but I do strongly believe that fulfillment revolves around make a positive impact to everything and everyone we touch on a daily basis.

7)???? Put yourself in difficult positions so that you can cope with what life throws at you. We can attest that we have all the knowledge and ability to tackle demanding situations, but you only realize who you are when things go bad. Your actions at this point define who you are. We need to get ourselves outside our comfort zones and push our limits even when it is uncomfortable to help us deal with the tribulations of life.

8)???? Be so good in your trade that you do not rely on a company or organization to provide you with security. The fear of losing your job can be daunting, but ‘’skills is the new currency” and if you stay relevant, excel in your performance and be renowned as an expert in your domain, you can be assured that you will continue to grow.

9)???? Stay relevant as the world is moving forward with or without you. Do not wait for anyone to invest in your development, it is your responsibility. Learn something new every day, enroll in learning something new, leverage on your networks to gain different perspectives – these all contribute to a stronger, smarter YOU.

10)? Trust the universe – whatever you give, you get back..! The rules of the universe are simple, you attract what you give. If you are kind and giving, then you will be rewarded with kindness and compassion. If you are conniving and deceitful, then that’s what you will receive in return.

Now.. take a deep breath and soak in the last few ours of 2023. Be thankful to everyone who walked into your life. Appreciate the achievements and the defeats that may have clouded your year. Reflect with a grateful heart and take a moment to thank yourself for being strong through this journey around the sun. Your heart is still beating, you have love flowing through your veins and you are more determined than ever to make next year better than the last. Now its your time… Go get what you truly deserve..!
