New Year, New You, Huh?

How’d that work out in 2022 for you?

If you’re frustrated with the year-over-year results of your goal quests and still further from your 2022 goals than you want to be, let me share a mindset that works for me.

Goals are pleasure driven.

For example, no one writes a goal to spend 350 strenuous hours in the gym in 2023. That goal sounds miserable.

Instead, they write what they want to look like, weigh, and how they want to feel. All that is based on the results giving them some form of pleasure.

Same thing goes for finances.

Everyone writes they want to make a million dollars a year. No one writes they want to work 70 hours a week, miss family events, and the other misery that comes with big money.

You don’t need a goal. Goals are pleasure driven and humans respond to pain better than pleasure.

You need a New Year Enemy.

You need to go through the pain of war against everything you don’t like about your current life.

Fuck a goal. Go to war!

Your enemy is the fat and unhealthy version of yourself, you let you become. That Mufugger is your enemy.

Your enemy is poverty. And every soldier it sends your way is doomed to die at your feet.

Your enemy is solitude. Wars are won with teams who are all on the same mission.

You don’t need goals. You need enemies.

Men especially, are motivated by competition and combat.

Go to war against mediocrity, the results will be excellence.

Go to war against fat and unhealthy, the results will be a ripped body.

Go to war against loneliness, the results will be an abundance of great people in your life.

Go to war against ignorance, the results will be wisdom.

If you’ve set goals year after year only to be let down, stop setting goals and make a battle plan to go to absolute war against your enemies.
