New Year, New Sanius Health: 2022 Wrap Up for Our Community

The end of 2022 marks a threshold in some of the fantastic achievements we have seen throughout the year. Although we have encountered challenges across the health sector, from nursing strikes to rising A&E waiting times, our community has surpassed these with strength, passion, and renewed vigour in bettering SCD lives.?

As we approach 2023 with the same commitment we have shown in advocating for SCD care, patients and lives, we would like to thank everyone for their support and efforts. This year saw us running multiple initiatives to engage, advocate and commit to activities that would support the community.

The year saw us change our brand and expand the ecosystem to include more rare diseases. Our name change to ‘Sanius Health’ represents the latest stage in our journey and mission to improve the lives of patients all over the world. Above all, it represents our commitment to providing a home for the broader rare disease community.?

We invested strongly in growing our patient ecosystem, supporting adherence and retention through data, insights, patient coaching and support. In tandem, our work with many of you in real-world evidence generation, patient pathway design, predicting VOCs with AI, sleep studies, observational studies and more has really been palpable in supporting access to new therapies and improved patient outcomes.

In partnership with many of you, we delivered the most prominent billboard and disease awareness campaign for Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). The campaign's goal was to increase awareness around SCD to better people's understanding of the illness and highlight the lived impact of the disease.??

Individuals featured in our images included some of the loudest advocates for SCD, including pop culture icons, athletes, and spokespersons for the disease. We are proud of the fact that the joined campaigns reached a total of 40 million impressions just in a matter of months.

?We were excited to attend the Annual Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia (ASCAT). Conversations and presentations held at ASCAT, from individuals across the globe made it clear that only continued collaboration will catalyse more efforts to improve SCD care.?

Orlando shared Sanius Health's work to support patient outcomes. His presentation focused on how Sanius Health’s ecosystem could help answer the research question that patients, clinicians and researchers have tried to solve for years: how we collect, monitor and use data to understand the circumstances around a vaso-occlusive crisis.?

In addition, this year saw us successfully submit several research abstracts to be presented at SCD and haematological conferences throughout the year. This included ‘Real-Time Vaccination Impacts’ for ASCAT 2022, and ‘Real-world impacts of sleep quality of life in SCD’ for the 4th Global Congress on Sickle Cell Disease Paris. ‘PROs’ and ‘wearable metric correlations’ and ‘Live Outcomes and Biometric monitoring: Implications for QoL’ at the ASCAT-EHA-BSH 2022 Conference.?

In a similar light, we were proud to honour the Top 80 Most Influential Advocates and People in Sickle Cell Disease. The first of its kind, this list featured the brightest minds, loudest voices, and most dedicated advocates in bettering SCD lives. Whether advancing gene editing technology, building innovative platforms or spreading SCD awareness, these individuals' contributions to the condition have been significant. Our patient and clinician community were asked to put forward individuals they believed made an enormous difference in SCD lives. They chose people they want to celebrate for their incredible advancements in care, development and social impact on patients. Hundreds of votes were cast for this list, including global SCD thought leaders, patient advocates and research pioneers.?
