New year resolution Decoded !!!

Well it is time of the year when most of us set new goals / Resolutions. Only few are able to achieve them If I look back I have a history of setting up and not completing them all. This year I decided to do a retrospective & strategize.

There are two parts to it

Goal

1 Goals should be SMART(Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound)

2 Setting Milestones and Rewards for achieving Milestones – to keep you motivated

3 Retrospective Learn for previous failures and not to repeat them

Time

Well….. time and availability  play a vital role . A Day will always  have 24 hours No one will give us Extra time to pursue our goals

I have observed Few days I am able to take out time but then my priority changes and things go for a toss. How should  I improve upon??  Well the answer to this  is SCS  Stop-Continue-START

STOP To Pursue Generally to we add activity to our schedule. You just juggle  priorities and create some time that eventually get washed away. We must let go few things to add new thing Identify an activity that  we should stop in order to achieve our goal.  This will free up sometime and get the Right Priority

Continue –The easiest part- Identify one activity that is helping your reach your goal, Just continue doing it .

Start – The Action : Identify Small things you can start . Master it, and then add next task. This incremental change will make sure things are continuous and not abrupt  . This also help us avoid stress that a sudden change brings in .

Last but not the least, Visualize your Goal and feel that Moment of Success.  Keep encouraging yourself as you march towards your goal
