New Year, New Opportunities

Over the holidays, I hope you all were able to step away from the pressing demands that life can bring and spend some time with those who are special to you. I spent the holidays in England with my family and with my new granddaughter. I believe taking some time away is incredibly important to both recover and reset. This year, my family and I rented a cottage in the Peak District and spent many days walking the hills, enjoying good food and playing silly games, my favourite being the board game “frustration”… high brow stuff!

I live by the maxim that “plans are useless, but planning is everything” meaning there is value in being clear and intentional with your goals and ambitions but knowing that “life happens” and we need to be able to adapt. As such, I have jotted down a few ambitions for the year and would be curious to hear what you all have set as your goals for 2023.

• Sport and Fitness: As many of you know, I have raced triathlon for a number of years but unfortunately, triathlon training took a back seat these past six months. I do want to race this year, perhaps a short course race later this summer, and have added it to my list of physical goals in 2023.
• My Career: I’m increasingly committed to working with Under Armour and across the industry to address climate change. We have lots of work to do and I am excited by what we can achieve in the next few years.
• Personal Life: As stated in my recent article, I’m an avid reader. Each year, I hope to read a few good books (I have a list), spend quality time with family and friends and ideally sleep 7?hours a night.
