New Year, New Neighborly
Business growth can sometimes look like a game of chess in that it requires a strategic forward-looking approach. At Neighborly, we made some of our greatest business changes in 2021 so we could position our brand for a stronger 2022 and beyond. In this new year, we’ve created a new Neighborly. Here’s a look at some of our latest milestones.???
New Ownership?
In July, Neighborly was acquired by global investment firm KKR through its North American private equity fund. This move has positioned our organization for accelerated growth that’s powered by KKR’s support and global expertise.?
New HQ2
Neighborly opened its second headquarters office (HQ2) in Las Colinas, Texas. This new Neighborly location is now home to five of our brands: Mr. Handyman, Molly Maid, Dryer Vent Wizard, Window Genie, and Real Property Management. The opening of HQ2 gives us access to greater franchise resources, a deep labor pool, and a central travel hub for national and international travel.?
New Customer Channel
If the pandemic taught us anything, it was that customers still need home services — but they want them with streamlined processes and fewer face-to-face touchpoints. So, in September, we launched a mobile app to make it a snap to connect homeowners with our family of brands. With smartphone in hand, a customer can schedule service, get service status updates, and receive offers through the app.?

New Brand
As I’ve mentioned, the demand for home services has remained steady (and in some areas, has grown exponentially) over the past several years. To reach more customers across the pond, Neighborly expanded its global footprint in the United Kingdom with the strategic acquisition of London-based Pimlico Plumbers. With this addition, our portfolio now includes 29 home services brands.?
New Leadership
The year also saw the hiring of Brian Woods, a former Wall Street investment banker and franchise expert, as group vice president of franchise development. Brian now oversees our repair cluster of brands, which consists of Mr. Rooter Plumbing, Mr. Electric, Mr. Appliance, Aire Serv, and Dryer Vent Wizard.
New All-Time High
One of the most exciting things about Neighborly is that our organization makes business dreams come true. In 2022, we will reach the milestone of 5,000 franchises — which means 5,000 small business owners. These hard working professionals serve more than 10 million customers across nine countries, and our global footprint is positioned to keep expanding.?
