New Year Message

Christmas 2016 was a myriad of firsts for me with recipes tried, Hawaiian Christmas music; fellowship after mass, first time visitors, recycle wrapping papers and all were well.

Then it was a crazy run for all things school, which was more tiresome then spending eight hours of hoeing, weeding, digging and tending to my garden. This brought about to mind what is success; how does one evaluate oneself. If you were to take in with who says what and thinks about you in society and community you never will quite get there. There will always be a what if!

As a consultant having met colours of characters with #Manpower it’s a wonder how people view success; how broken and dismayed they can be when not successful. Wanting a job with a mere increase in salary is an achievement to one while to another it’s a blessing to be hired for such factors as age, gender, qualification is a big thing in Malaysian job market.

Able bodied that are so lost in what is next and wanting more and more but do not know how to plan their future but just seeking for more monies blaming price increases; this characters need to view their attitude and look towards why they are special to an employer rather than what the employer can provide. Physically challenged that believe the world is theirs to conquer and greet the new day with a big smile and feeling blessed for each new day.

Whatever your age, creed and colour success began when you took your first step said your first word; learned your alphabet; passed through primary school; figured out secondary school; got your driving license; sat through college and University; fell in love; got back on your feet after a breakup; met your soul mate; got an interview with an ace company; got a job; bought your dream car and house, got married, raised a child, hired again in your forties; still in your best after a divorce; got your promotion; became a grandparent. When were you not successful?

I wish each one of you my dear friends a magnificent and successful 2017. Success is what you made yesterday for your tomorrow. Do not fret if 2016 was bollocks, you have come a long way to now know you are already a success; just BELIEVE in all that you do and do it with LOVE.
