A New Year message from Sandra Henry
Dear Colleagues and Friends of Slipstream,
Like many of you, I'm sure, I'm excited to reflect on 2024 accomplishments and move into 2025. I'm proud of the year we've had at Slipstream, where we've welcomed 35 new employees and delivered meaningful impact to the communities we serve. We're looking forward to continuing that impact in 2025.
At the same time, the last year has been a roller coaster, and every day I was reminded of the urgency to take on the global challenge of climate change.
Slipstream is ready to answer the call. We're working with our partners to lead the way to widescale building decarbonization. Together we are pursuing a future in which every building is free of the harmful effects of fossil fuels and prepared to benefit from a smarter, cleaner grid. Our staff is working on solutions along every degree of the scale, from getting manufactured homes ready for air-source heat pumps to helping whole cities reach net-zero in a matter of years. Along the way, we've expanded our capacity to listen to our community partners and meet the needs that can have the most immediate impact on people's lives.
We have a lot to look forward to. On February 27 and 28, the Better Buildings: Better Business Conference returns live and in person at the Wisconsin Dells—our first in-person B4 event since 2022. Building professionals from all over the region will come together to hear the latest advancements in building science that they can immediately apply to their customers. I'm personally looking forward to hearing keynote speakers Shalanda Baker , Vice Provost for Sustainability and Climate Action at the University of Michigan, and Mandela Barnes , the former Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin and Founder and President of Forward Together Wisconsin.
Meanwhile, we're working on developing new services that we're excited to announce in the coming months. We're entering Year Two of several research projects made possible by unprecedented federal investments in climate equity, including the Cream City Climate Challenge in Milwaukee and the Building a Strong Foundation for Wisconsin Energy Codes program. And our daily work continues in saving energy through strong utility programs, enabling the clean energy workforce through reliable education and training, and making upgrades possible through equitable financing.
