New Year. Know You.

This month we have invited Grant Galvin, a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC), to share his thoughts on stepping into 2025 and beyond.

"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." – Oscar Wilde

The start of a new year often brings a rush of resolutions and commitments, driven by a need to find a “new you.” For many, this can create an unhealthy focus on fixing perceived flaws and adding to an already overflowing cup of things to do.

But what if there’s another way? A shift in perspective—from planning to reflection, from striving to discovering the benefits of truly knowing yourself.

?Turning Toward Yourself.

"Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom." – Aristotle

To "Know You" isn’t an indulgence; it’s something that is central and necessary for your wellbeing. ?It means seeing yourself clearly, beyond externally imposed roles and expectations, and reconnecting with your authentic self, your values and purpose. ?Here are a few questions to guide your reflection:

  • What truly matters to me, right now?
  • What habits am I carrying into this year that no longer serve me?
  • How can I lead myself in a way that integrates my values with my actions in service of what matters most to me?

Rather than pursuing change and doing things for their own sake, this approach will support you finding real fulfillment and balance in 2025.

?Living from Your True Self

"At the centre of your being, you have the answer; you know who you are, and you know what you want." – Lao Tzu

Self-leadership requires personal insights and action, where meaningful action comes from a place of clarity and alignment. Ask yourself:

  • Am I honouring what’s most important to me?
  • Am I listening carefully to my heart and gut instincts, and not just my head?
  • Am I living my life on purpose, contributing and impacting in ways that that matter to me?

When you operate from your true self, your decisions and actions are more confident, resonant and impactful. Life becomes less about reacting to external pressures and more about responding from a grounded, authentic place.

?An Invitation to Be You.

"At the heart of who you are is all the wisdom you’ll ever need." – Byron Katie

As this new year starts, say “Yes” to regularly stepping back from the daily rush to reconnect with yourself. These quiet moments of reflection will serve you well, helping you approach each day and this year with renewed clarity, purpose, and intention.

So make 2025 less about reinventing yourself and more about rediscovering who you are so you can lead from a place of real knowing – of knowing yourself.

Happy New Year.

Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." – Oscar Wilde Nice timing. The quote took the edge off the day.

Wonderful Grant Galvin. Coach, Facilitator, Advisor. Taking the time to build strong foundations of knowing who you really are, or perhaps, really want to be is such a key starting point. I am drawn to 'When you operate from your true self, your decisions and actions are more confident, resonant and impactful. Life becomes less about reacting to external pressures and more about responding from a grounded, authentic place.' When you are clear about your authentic self and operate from that space, you are more #resilent and in my experience you reduce the stress of decision making, as you have a clear decision making compass!
