New year new hopes? Predictions for 2025?

Happy New Year, everyone! We are officially in the third week of 2025, and there is so much happening in the tech ecosystem, with everyone making predictions and strategies for the year ahead. I believe it’s crucial for every organization, big or small, to take a moment to reflect on key goals and metrics, what worked well and what needs improvement. That said, innovation and learning should never stop. This year, I plan to dive deep into generative AI, learning and understanding it from a non-AI/ML background while building the infrastructure to support it. My goal is to create infra with Kubernetes layered on top that will bridge the gap between a Cloud Engineer and an AI Engineer.

With 2025 and the rise of AI agents, many people fear how much of their work will be automated. Even if automation takes over certain tasks, there are still countless things that need to be done: like preparing infrastructure and tackling never-ending product roadmaps. I believe AI will be there in everything, from writing code to enhancing observability, and we need to embrace it in our workflows. By doing so, we can become more productive, focus on solving bigger challenges, and push products and software innovation to new heights.

What I have been working on and where you can find me next?

I have been busy creating content since Day 1 itself and I am very happy with both Kubesimplify Hindi, Kubesimplify English, along with that I have been creating a lot of content about vCluster and multi-tenancy at Loft Labs.

Upcoming Session:

Yes, I will be at Fosdem in Brussels, would love to chat and meet anyone who is coming, you can meet me at the DevPod stand and do attend our session.

My predictions for 2025

  • AI and Agents coming into all your workflows including Kubernetes management
  • More Observability solutions powered by AI capabilities
  • Kubernetes cost management and running it in a sustainable way goes mainstream
  • Multi cluster and Multi tenancy is more important than before
  • Building IDP’s become more easier
  • WASM continues to grow within Kubernetes ecosystem
  • Kubernetes will not only run containers but also AI agents in 2025

Awesome Reads

I have been reading a lot during past couple of weeks too!

  • Meet Gordon: An AI Agent for Docker - Docker has introduced Gordon, an AI-powered agent integrated into Docker Desktop and CLI, designed to assist users with Docker-related tasks such as debugging container issues, optimizing configurations, and accessing documentation. Currently in beta with Docker Desktop 4.37, Gordon leverages AI models and Docker's documentation to provide context-aware solutions, aiming to simplify workflows and enhance productivity for developers.
  • What is an AI agent? - In this post, John McBride explains the concept of AI agents, autonomous software systems leveraging LLMs to make decisions and call predefined tools using well-structured schemas, enabling flexibility and model-driven decision-making at scale. While he highlights their potential for enhancing productivity in software systems, he emphasizes the importance of understanding their limitations, such as cost, complexity, and error margins, to ensure effective integration into existing workflows.
  • See What WebAssembly Can Do in 2025 - WebAssembly (Wasm) is poised for broader adoption in 2025, with advancements like improved WASI standards, integration with Kubernetes, and applications in edge computing and cloud-native security. As a versatile, lightweight, and secure technology, Wasm is expected to complement containers, enable cross-language compatibility, and serve as a critical component in edge deployments and developer workflows.
  • Fuzzing the CNCF landscape in 2024 - CNCF's fuzzing initiatives in 2024, powered by OSS-Fuzz, significantly improved the security and reliability of its projects, identifying over 2,000 issues across memory-safe and memory-unsafe languages. Key projects like Keycloak and Cert-Manager benefited from fuzzing audits, uncovering critical vulnerabilities, while ongoing advancements, including LLM-powered automation, promise even more robust fuzzing support for CNCF projects in 2025.
