New Year, New Experiments

At the Experimentalists, we are thrilled to start our third year with a few new experiments. Our passion for exploration is embedded right in our name- after all, we are the experimentalists!

I often get asked about the origin of our name, 'Experimentalist'. While I may have answered this question in a variety of ways before, truth be told, it reflects a significant chapter of my life. For the last decade, I've been deeply involved in scientific experiments. Even as I transitioned away from academia, I wanted to maintain the thrill of developing ideas, observing and discussing science, and importantly, elucidating the thought process of researchers to my non-scientist peers. So, this platform was started to amplify the voices of scientists, to gain insights into the behind-the-scenes of amazing discoveries and while we are at it, highlight certain challenges that academics face and kickstart a discussion on everything and anything we need to discuss scientifically- from climate change to gut feelings.

So what is changing this year and what is new?

We are teaming up with various science communicators for a range of workshops starting this year! In addition to our 'Improv for Scientists' workshops, we are launching scientific writing workshops for masters and early-career PhDs, science writing workshops for aspiring science communicators, and science outreach/leadership workshops for new investigators, postdocs, and PhDs.

Wondering how to book these workshops?

If you are part of a research group or conference organizer, simply send us an inquiry and we'll get back to you with the details. We can tailor these workshops to meet your group's specific needs and offer them either in person or virtually.

We are also keen to explore more workshop ideas. If you're a professor or science communicator with experience in conducting workshops, we invite you to collaborate with us. We would be thrilled to host you at The Experimentalist.

We will continue to give you a sneak peek into the scientific world one article at a time. Stay tuned!
