New year, new conversations
Listening skills are gaining traction in an exciting start to the new year. In the last hours of 2020, I spoke to The Times’s John Simpson about coaxing teenagers out of bathrooms. His piece appeared on Saturday morning. Then a couple of radio gigs followed hot on The Thunderer’s heels. As we welcome 2021 it felt apt talk to times.radio (02.53 mins in) and Radio 5 Live’s (55mins 50 secs in) Mobeen Azhar about how we can all learn to listen at an elite level. It’s a surefire way to deepen our connections in a socially distanced world. Happy New Year all, and roll on the vaccine roll out.

4 年Richard even now with my own grown up ‘teenage children’, they still laugh at the fact that they come to their Dad to help them build a relationship with their new ‘rescue dog’!! Our skills even work in the animal kingdom!!! All the best for 2021. Philip

4 年Thanks Richard I liked that - its a hard skill listening - good points about lack of clarity drives frustration and can lead to anger and how to avoid that.
