A New Year for Continuous Self-Improvement
Happy new year everyone!
Kenny here.
First off, thank you for all the support in 2022. We're grateful to be in this position help our community and customers. Words simply aren't enough for the appreciation we have for our supporters in this space.
For todays newsletter, I've got something special message to share. If you’re reading this, whether you’re an entrepreneur or intrapreneur, please give me a few minutes of your time. I promise I’ll make it worthwhile and if I don’t, share your feedback in the comments!
For the last couple of years, I’ve been approaching the new year with a different perspective and I’d like to share this realization with you today.
Here at Cannabis Warehouse, everything we talk about is cannabis. Although this is exciting because we're passionate about the plant, it’s easy to forget and dismiss the basics of life if conversations aren't being had frequently about them. So what I am going to share is a topic our team discusses quite often internally and it has to do with self-improvement.
Going into a new year, it’s common for us to set new business goals and hype the things we’re going to accomplish. The surface level stuff like financial targets, KPIs, material items, a vacation, a promotion etc.. But how often do we dig deeper and set goals for our true selves? Businesses aside.
I’m talking about being honest with ourselves and peeling back the layers of WHO WE ARE.
How are we, really?
How is life?
What are the thoughts, beliefs, habits, and behaviours driving us towards undesired actions?
A couple years ago, as I was talking to myself, I had a thought occur that shifted my perspective and approach to business and life:
---
“There is no separation of the two. Business is life. We are a business and business is an aspect in this game of life. Therefore the game that I am playing isn't just business, it's everything. Playing life and succeeding in business requires all of me. My entire essence and being. Which means my contribution to our business is capped by the contribution I’ve been putting into myself.”
---
Operating a successful business, especially with a team, requires healthy operators.
So this year, I’d like to remind you to not only focus on your business, but to focus on yourself as well.
Mind. Body. Spirit.
You know all those massive goals we just set for 2023? The only way we’re going to achieve them is if WE ARE HEALTHY and continuously contributing to the betterment of ourselves.
If we’re not healthy physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally, how do we expect to continuously perform and help our customers?
Business is business. It will always be there.?
However... we are mortal. There's only one opportunity at this specific game.
So the most important thing we can do for ourselves, our family, business, employees, and community is to focus and be intentional with our self-improvement. Meanwhile having full faith that the time and effort invested will help us achieve our goals and desires.
With being said, here are some daily practices I will be practicing more this year:
---
The list I have shared above isn't anything we haven't heard before.
So the question remains... Are we doing them?
I hope what I shared today provides a different perspective about our team at Cannabis Warehouse. We’re human just like every reader here today. Bunch of people learning how to play and succeed in life and business in our own way.
As a team, we understand that the our ability to help our customers is reliant on each individuals performance. And each individuals performance is reliant on the investment they put into themselves.?Yes, business goals are important, but remember to prioritize yourself first because WITHOUT YOU, there is no realisation of dreams, goals and desires.?
Now… lets go get after it shall we?
See you at the next end of week wrap up!
