REFLECTION-REVIEW-GOALS-IMPLEMENTATION
We are officially in December?and in the last month?of 2021!
And as we slowly leave 2021 to enter into 2022, it is also a good time to buckle down and get serious about finishing the year strong in order to actually set the goals?for the new year in your business.
WHY YOU NEED A QUARTERLY PLAN
There are an endless number of things you COULD be focusing on in your?language?business, and?most?of us tend to make ourselves a little bit crazy by trying to do all the things all the time.
In?my mentoring programs?we work in?quarterly?sprints. The concept of a?quarterly?sprint is simple—at the beginning of the quarter, you set clear goals for what you want to accomplish, and then you spend the next three months—or 12 weeks—focused on accomplishing those specific goals.
When life gets in the way this fall, the clearly defined SMART goals you have set for your quarter will keep you focused and on track by allowing you to prioritize a few key tasks each week.
Here are four simple action steps that will help you set yourself up for a successful fourth quarter:
1. REFLECTION
Before you can look forward to what needs to happen in the upcoming quarter, it’s important to spend?some?time looking back at what HAS already?happened.
Intentionally reflecting is not something that we always do in our business, usually because we’re so busy just trying to keep up on all the daily tasks. We rarely have a chance to take a breath, much less take a full step back to look at the big picture and what we’re learning about ourselves and our business along the way.
But reflection is one of the most POWERFUL ways to become a better business owner.?Nothing will teach you more than your own?lessons?and?mistakes, but you can only learn from them if you are actually intentional about it.
(!) Take a few minutes in a quiet place, without distractions, and journal about the past quarter, both the good and the bad. What went well? What wasn’t so good? What are you most proud of? Where would you like to improve?
This is basically a summary of your past 90 days, where you are at right now in this moment and how you’re feeling about the future and the next 90 days. The goal of this first step is to help give you more?clarity?by taking?the?step back so that you can gain a better understanding of what your next steps should be.
2. REVIEW
After you’ve spent a little time looking backwards, it is time to identify what would need to happen over the NEXT 90 days to create massive?momentum?in your business.
It’s SO EASY to get distracted in the online world, but when you are trying to do everything in your business all at the same time, you will not only get exhausted, you also feel like you are spinning in circles, not actually making?any real progress.
So take a little time to evaluate the state of your business and what could be going better right now, and then determine the actions you need to take this quarter to make the quarter a success.
3. SMART GOALS
After you have identified the actions that you need to take this quarter, take those actions and turn them into clear, measurable goals,?SMART Goals.
First, from your list of?goals, choose ONE “important” goal—the one goal that trumps all others.
We recommend stating this goal in a very clear and concise way—something you can post on the wall. Now put your other goals in order of importance,?prioritization,?in order to build your plan for the quarter. For each goal you should select the key metrics you’ll want to track, as well as set a due date for accomplishing each one.

If you are at a point where you are already making money with your business, then I would also recommend setting a revenue goal and a profit goal for the new year.??
4. IMPLEMENTATION
This final step takes your quarterly plan and puts it into?action. The BIGGEST achievements in your business will ONLY come as a result of SMALL steps taken consistently over time. This is why my group coaching program is an?IMPLEMENTATION?program.
Making?progress is the key to your success, and that means you need to have a plan for keeping yourself on track and moving forward each and every week, all quarter long—that is where weekly planning comes in.?This is what?ACCOUNTABILITY?means in my?Fully Booked Translator Formula.
Each week,?we?review your goals for the quarter and declare if you are on track for meeting the goal. Be honest, and if anything is standing in your way of not being on track—make a plan to fix it!
By?setting weekly tasks, it will help keep you on track with the tasks that will bring you towards your quarterly goals. You will be able to keep your eye on the finish line and handle any obstacles along the way.?And I am able to check your progress as well through our progress form sent biweekly to you during my program.
