The New World of Recruiting

The New World of Recruiting

If you have clicked on this article link expecting to read about some life-altering philosophical movement which will change the way companies do business, well spoiler alert – you won’t find it here.

Instead, I am writing a self-serving article about how the world of recruitment is changing and why my company, hireprint.com, is stepping outside of the operational norm to provide what I believe will be the way of the future for recruitment.

Technology has created far reaching accessibility making the process of finding candidates so much easier. Many companies are choosing to fulfil their staffing needs by engaging job seekers directly, utilizing job boards and social media and relying less on recruitment firms.

There will always be a place for recruitment companies whether it is a high-profile hiring, difficult fills or confidential searches, but many companies are beginning to self-recruit their mainstream positions.

Looking at this trend I have decided to create a new business model that will surely make my fellow recruiters cringe. With over 35 years of experience in printing including the past 18 years as a recruiter for the industry, I have been able to create a vast network of contacts. The new business model will allow my clients the ability to utilize my network without having to hire full-fledged recruiting services.

Yikes! The competition shouts, you are just competing with yourself. Yes, I say, but I like the competition :)

Here’s how it works:

hireprint.com is a dedicated job board for the printing and packaging industry. What separates this board from the competition is that while the others are just static postings, hireprint.com is dynamic.

Normally job boards are like the bulletin boards in the local supermarket, if you happen to be at the store while the posting is tacked to the board you may or may not notice it. In contrast, I would compare hireprint.com to a newspaper delivery person who brings the paper right to your door, opens the paper up and tells you to check out the ads.

When a client posts on hireprint.com, we spend time in ensuring that the right people are viewing it. First, we will share the posting as a job alert to our network, we then drill down our database to those who are a fit geographically and technically and then send a personal email or message to alert them to the opportunity. We’re not done yet as we reach out to the world using all industry specific mainstream social networking channels.

One of our goals is to make sure that the posting remains in the confines of the printing and packaging industry so that the right people are viewing it and the response is from those in the industry who are qualified.

There are many more benefits to this service and I would be more than happy to discuss them with anyone who is interested. So, I welcome you to contact me anytime.

I believe this is a winning model that will provide a great economical service to those who wish to self-recruit, of course if you wish to bypass the self-recruiting and would like to hire our services to find your ideal candidate, well we would be more than happy to do so.

We are here to please.

Hey Steven well said and thanks for the comment. I find in todays world there is so much movement due to the accessibility of opportunity that companies are constantly in need. Back in our day networking was reading the want ads and travelling to physically hand in a resume or fill out an application. My thinking is that if I can make the process easier with more choice then I will be able to help more companies with their staffing needs. Have a great day Steven :)
