In this new weekly series, we caught up with Jack Helm, Nutrition Product Developer, to find out what life at Genflow looks like...

00 - Wake up and go on a 5-mile walk (roughly 10,000 steps)!

15 - I do my home bench press and curling weights and then shower and eat my pre-prepared breakfast, which is usually a bacon omelette.

00 - Log on and clear all outstanding Slack messages/emails - my emails are mostly from suppliers reaching out for updates on samples/completed packaging.

00 - A team-wide catchup to go over what we need to achieve this week and any major concerns or other items we need the Head of Department to look over before submitting or actioning. This gives us an opportunity to set out the week ahead and set ourselves goals.

00 - Speak to our Logistics team about any outstanding movements of goods around the world and if there is anything I should be concerned about. Any delays may affect launch dates and so these meetings are key. I also speak to Wholesale with regards to any retail updates, often retail partners can give us sales data and give us a nudge towards which product they'd like to see us release (having this conversation early means I can start a lot of the groundwork of development).?

00 - Replying to client's Slack messages. Often clients can ask technical questions or require updates on NPD projects. More often than not recently this has been artwork updates.

00 - Lunch: a pre-prepared meal whilst catching up on an episode of a series when WFH. At the moment I'm watching Pam and Tommy on Disney+.

00 - Make sure all of the packaging briefs are up-to-date and discuss any overarching issues with our internal Graphic Designer or our freelancers. Often, we will have submitted designs to clients and they will come back with a list of tweaks and changes that need to be made to the artwork. This can sometimes be difficult to explain over a Slack or Asana (an organisation tool the company uses) brief so I need to have a call to discuss.

00 - Continue working on new client briefs; this is often market research.

00 - Prospecting new suppliers. There are always more manufacturers to find with their niche expertise and great-tasting products.

00 - Talking to Account Managers to make sure that each client is up to date with their relative sections, often changing priority week-to-week with different clients having launches that command more attention from me. I have to check each product's page on Shopify to make sure all claims are in -line with regulations and all of the nutritional decks and ingredients listings are correct.

00 - Log off and get ready to play 5 a-side football at the gym with my friends.
