A new week and a fresh start

A new week and a fresh start

This week I was delighted to start my new role as Client Solutions Manager at Remit Training. I have joined to add technical expertise to the range of commercial light, heavy and electric vehicle training courses Remit now offers.?

As you can imagine, after 16 years at Scania, to say I was slightly apprehensive was maybe an understatement, but everyone I have met has been so friendly. Of course, Andy Murdoch, Scania’s account manager, was only ever a WhatsApp away!

Massive thanks must also go to Alex Rafter, Head Of Commercial Training at Remit. Alex took me under her wing throughout the week to show me around the Nottingham head offices and arrange introduction meetings with key people in the business.

Having worked closely with Remit over the last few years as part of the Scania partnership, I met a handful of contacts amongst many friendly and welcoming people within minutes.?

What struck me was the sense of pride I got from everyone I spoke to at Remit.?

Day one was about making sure my IT was set up so that I could access all the Remit systems.?On Tuesday, I had to do my hair and make up, ready for a quick photoshoot arranged by Adam Brook?as part of a welcome to some other new starters to Remit. You may have seen the post on LinkedIn, which has since gone viral, so massive thanks to all those that have liked and commented.?Wednesday was my birthday, and it was humbling to receive many birthday wishes to celebrate my 21st (x 2 + 2) birthday. I was also able to check in with Adam Warsop?mid-week to ensure everything was going well.??Thursday was the regular Remit live session chaired by the CEO, which provided me with a great insight into the company and a host of relevant information from across the organisation.??And then it was Friday, time to breathe.

My first week at Remit has been great mainly because of the people I have met and my welcome. We are on a journey, and I am looking forward to working with great people and a great company.??

I can’t wait for Week 2??
