New Ways for Decommissioning

Let’s talk about decommissioning from subsea perspective !!!!

As part of Decommissioning Team, we are having a lot of challengers to access the wells and old XTs for 80’s generation at our Fields, as well to use Light Workover Intervention Vessel on top of equipment subsea in the shallow water.

We Finished the decommissioning of the 4th Well and this last one with a Horizontal XT. It was the great milestone performed Through Tubing permanent abandonment and having the interface of the Horizontal XT with LWIS + TRT.

This kind of XT model has a Tree Cap , Internal Tree Cap and Crow Plug into Tubing Hanger. “Normal intervention” in this model of HXT is performed using a BOP and THRT through Marine Riser to remove the Internal Tree Cap end retrieve the CP to start the decommissioning process.

We challenge the?“normal intervention” and performed the access of HXT using LWIS + TRT with Stabs for Dual Bore TH to retrieve the CP. Also was removed the Tree Cap with TCRT and internal Tree Cap using the Vessel crane, ?saving 2 days of operation with Drill Pipe.

All operation planned and finished Down Hole program in 22 days!!! Great achievement performing the decommissioning of this well with HXT without Marine BOP.
