A New Way to Understand Skills
The traditional way of thinking about skills is that they are specific to a particular trade or profession. For example, a doctor needs to have knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and a carpenter needs to know how to use tools. However, in today's rapidly changing world, this traditional view of skills is becoming outdated.
A new way of thinking about skills is that they can be divided into three categories: knowledges, transferable skills, and self-management skills.
The importance of knowledges is declining in today's world because information is becoming more and more accessible. In the past, if you wanted to learn about a particular topic, you would have to go to school or read a book. However, today you can simply search for information online. This means that you no longer need to have extensive knowledge of a particular field in order to be successful.

Instead, what is becoming more important are transferable skills. These are the skills that allow you to learn new information quickly and adapt to new situations. In today's world, change is constant, so it is essential to be able to learn new things quickly. Transferable skills also allow you to move between different jobs and industries.
Self-management skills are also becoming increasingly important. In today's world, we are bombarded with distractions and it can be difficult to stay focused. Self-management skills allow you to manage your time effectively and stay on track. They also allow you to manage your emotions and stay calm under pressure.
In conclusion, the traditional view of skills is becoming outdated. In today's world, what is important are knowledges, transferable skills, and self-management skills. If you want to be successful in the future, you need to develop these skills.
