A new vision for Versius

A new vision for Versius

Last week, we celebrated the launch of vLimeLite* our new imaging technology to visualise ICG, and the first product launched as part of Versius Plus – a significant enhancement to the existing system. vLimeLite is an integrated fluorescence imaging system to visualise ICG (Indocyanine green), providing enhanced visualisation during surgery. vLimeLite allows surgeons to perform visual assessment of the vessels, blood flow and related tissue perfusion, as well as biliary anatomy.

vLimeLite is unique in the surgical robotics industry because it is an integrated ICG viewing system that allows visualisation of ICG with a choice of viewing mode for surgeons: overlay in full colour or greyscale. Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the UK is the first hospital to install vLimeLite and its Upper GI team will be the first to start cases.

CMR turns 10!

At the end of January we celebrated 10 years of innovation, and CMR’s 10th Birthday, with the presentation of our King’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation from?Mrs Julie Spence OBE CStJ QPM, His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire.

The event – hosted at our Ely manufacturing facility and streamed to teams around the world – was a wonderful opportunity to get team CMR together to celebrate CMR’s achievements, and everyone’s contributions that led to us receiving the Award.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and helped out to make the event a success and that joined in the celebrations from all around the world. Happy Birthday CMR!?

Celebrating customer milestones

Mr Najib Daulatzai at The Wellington Hospital

Throughout January, surgeons and surgical teams around the world have celebrated a variety of milestones with Versius – representing more patients around the world getting access to the benefits of robotic-assisted minimal access surgery.???

In the gynaecology department of Hospital Borgo Trento in Verona, Italy, Prof. Stefano Uccella and Dr. Anna Festi have completed a series of fully robotic hysterectomies with pelvic lymphadenectomies, and sentinel node detection using Versius in a European first.

Congratulations to the team at The Wellington Hospital (part, the first private hospital in the UK to have introduced Versius, who have commenced cases using the system led by Mr Vanash Patel and Mr Najib Daulatzai. At The Wellington, Versius is initially being used to perform a range of complex colorectal procedures including anterior resections and hemicolectomies, with the multispecialty programme with Versius then expanding into thoracic surgery and gynaecology.

The team at?Kreiskrankenhaus Rotenburg a. d. Fulda?(Rotenburg District Hospital) in Germany have successfully completed their first few cases using Versius – marking the first-ever soft tissue robotic assisted surgeries performed at the hospital. Versius has initially been used to perform a range of procedures, including cholecystectomy and an inguinal hernia repair, which saw the patient returning home the day of the procedure. Congratulations to?Dr. Martin Oechsner?and the entire surgical team for a wonderful start to your robotics programme with?Versius.

Dr Rahul Manchanda the Head of Gynaecology at PSRI Hospital in New Delhi, India and his team, Dr Hera Mirza, Dr Mona Iqbal and Dr Vinay Bhardwaj, have just published a comprehensive cohort study on the use of Versius across 53 gynaecology procedures, with their results highlighting the feasibility, efficiency, and patient-friendly nature of the Versius system, with notable advantages such as reduced hospital stay and smoother manipulation of tissues. Read the full study in the International Journal of Reproduction, Contraception, Obstetrics and Gynecology.
