New Updates for IG Reels! (and my VIP Reels Session Cyber Monday special)

In case you haven't heard IG is adding some pretty awesome updates to reels!

They added a new font style that puts an outline around your text. (kind of a bubble ish look) It's super cute and will make your text stand out!

The other thing they've added are some new features to your insights.

Overview:

This is pretty nice! It gives you a note about how your reel is doing. If it is getting more engagement than your recent reels...it tells you to create more reels like that one. (It's like a little pat on the back.) ??Good job!

Replays:

The number of times your reel starts to play again after an initial play of your reel. This is great stuff!

Watch time:

The total amount of time your reel was played, including any time spent replaying the reel.**This one is an important one to watch because it gives you a clue as to whether your audience is enjoying your content. The longer the watch time--they are diggin' what you're serving!

Here is a great tip to help you increase your watch time: (this is for non talking reels)

At the beginning of your reel make sure you type out a hook on the screen which I've mentioned many times (I know I sound like a broken record LOL but hooks are key to stopping the scroll).

Then type out "read caption" or add a "read caption" sticker...then write a longer caption before you post because people will naturally read the caption to get the info and as they're reading it, your reel will keep looping on and on. (which count towards replays)

Example: Let's say your hook is "Find out how to lose weight while eating chocolate" then you put "read caption" and no other words....you see?

People will have no choice but to read the caption to get the info!

Of course you can still put more text on the screen but this is what many people are doing to increase watch time and get people to actually read the caption.

IG is taking it up a notch right??
