New ultra-low profile pneumatic mag drilling machine: PRO-40 AD ATEX
We are proud to present PRO-40 AD ATEX – a new powerful pneumatic magnetic drilling machine designed to perform exceptionally well even in the most challenging and hazardous environments.
Enhanced features for superior performance
New model replaces the PRO-35 ADA ATEX, bringing notable enhancements. PRO-40 AD ATEX features a lighter design, an extended cutting diameter, a mag base design adjusted to round materials, and a sliding safety guard which improves safety.
PRO-40 AD ATEX is a professional portable machine designed to produce 40 mm holes with annular cutters and 16 mm holes with twist drill bits that have a 19 mm (3/4″) Weldon shank.
Ultra-low design for precision drilling in very tight spaces
It is only 185 mm high (7 inch and 9/32), so its low profile design allows it to fit neatly into very tight spaces. Additionally, its interchangeable feed handle allows operation from either side, improving both accessibility and user comfort. These features make the PRO-40 AD ATEX ideal for drilling in spaces with limited height, such as H-beams, steel structures, plates, profiles and machine maintenance.
Powerful magnet and V-prism
Utilizing a powerful permanent magnet base with a holding force of 7000N, PRO-40 AD ATEX firmly adheres to metal surfaces, allowing for precise drilling in flat material, even as thin as 10 mm and outside pipes of a minimum diameter of 250 mm.
The ultimate tool for hazardous environments: ATEX Compliance
Operating machinery in explosive environments demands the highest safety standards. PROMOTECH ATEX-approved drilling machines offer safe use on construction site and assembly areas, where standard electric machines may pose a risk of fire or explosion. The combination of a pneumatic drive and a strong permanent magnetic base that is employed in PRO-40 AD ATEX provides strong, secure hold without the need for an electric power supply.

PROMOTECH ATEX pneumatic drilling machines: PRO-40 AD ATEX, PRO 50 ATEX and PRO-200A ATEX are all made of ATEX-approved materials and engineered to meet ATEX II 2 G/D c IIC T6/T4 standards. Rather than using electricity, pneumatic mag drills use pneumatic power, or in other words, compressed air to operate. It means they are safe to be used in Ex zones and where hazardous, flammable or combustible vapours, liquids, dusts or residues may be present.
Thus, all PROMOTECH ATEX-approved machines are tailored for surface industries operating on fixed offshore platforms, in petrochemical plants, shipyards, flour mills, and other settings where a potentially explosive atmosphere may be present.
Safety features that reduce risk of accidents
Using ATEX-approved machines not only ensures compliance with legal requirements and industry standards but most of all, provides the highest level of workplace safety and significantly reduces the risk of accidents.
To further boost safety, in the PRO-40 AD ATEX is equipped with innovative sliding ON/OFF valve switch, that provides compressed air to the pneumatic motor, and allows for motor activation only when magnetic base is active. A special Magnet ON/OFF indicator confirms proper magnetic clamp. This way the compressed air slide valve which switches pneumatic motor on/off, cannot be started up when the magnet is not engaged.
Additional protection interlock system effectively prevents accidental motor activation, limits the risk of injuries and protects the user from sudden machine displacement.
Safety strap works as an extra layer of protection in case of clamping loss, securing it from unintended movement or falls.
Why PRO-40 AD ATEX?
The portable PRO-40 AD ATEX is a compact tool that excels in space-restricted and hazardous areas. It combines the power with flexibility and easier portability. Most of all, however, it is the pneumatic mag drilling machine with such a remarkable low-profile design, allowing drilling in hard-to-access areas. For professionals working in challenging environments, PRO-40 AD ATEX offers an unparalleled combination of safety, power, precision, and efficiency.
