We are going through a very bad time, especially the manufacturing industries, so many policies and procedures to comply with to please the customers and make products for them. Most of the things the contract demands have no merits and value and nothing to do with the manufacturing capability of the company.

Why is this new technology needed now? Because our manufacturing industries are robbed by statisticians, they promise quality improvement with their magical tools & techniques – SPC, Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma, Black Belt program and you name many other tools dipped in statistical principles. They (statisticians) know that the quality management has no idea (engineering ignorant, process ignorant) of what is going on in the manufacturing side of the company, quality managers quickly react to the inspection report of the anomaly of the manufactured product, and they chase the corrective action and close the rejection tag and it is done deal for the quality manager. This is one of the typical examples of actions happening with the quality department.

Another famous example is the Boeing Companie’s CEO Mr. Dave Calhoun, he is an account by qualification, but he is the leading head of the quality department. Many of you may wonder how he got there to that position. The secret is he is a magician, he can define Quality with Quantity and profit he gets, he is not bothered about the fatal accidents that took the lives of many as long as he gets the Blood money he does not care.

In my professional life, 90% of the upper managements were engineering or process ignorant and they were very fascinated about my work ethics and problem-solving skills, and they keep me in their pay roll. I have resolved many critical technical issues without any historical data, and they considered me as a Holy Cow who could resolve any technical issues and they never realized that I was checking their technical intelligent level, like a litmus test, at all levels of problems.

My mission is to change this trend by bringing state of the art technology that becomes the companion of the manufacturing industries, to help them to define, control and measure the quality of the manufactured product every time. Industrial Statistics is the name I gave to the process, because it is strictly for the manufacturing industries, it is a hybrid process management technique, proactive in nature, tailors quality into the manufacturing process, so the end results would be quality products every time. What prompted me to make this invention? After taking several SPC training and Green Belt training, I was lost and did not answer my quest on how to build quality products? My whole brain was tattooed the image of Bell curve, six Sigma and so forth and I flipped that statistical Bell Curve into a Scientifically created mathematical Bell Curve and believe me that opened a whole new world of process control without any historical data. I have a US Patent for that, and it has a copy right also and an actual software created for manufacturers use to define process control tailored with quality attributes and the result would be a quality product that meets the customer expectations. This program is also very helpful to control supply chain management, it is an effective communication process with clear transparency, the birth of new technology that helps all manufacturing industries across the globe. The pride of manufacturers to show their ability in creativity that fills the world of consumers with quality products.

These are the simple steps Industrial Statistics has.

1.???? Data Collection. Review the Contract, document all the deliverables, review engineering drawing or model, specification, identify each variable with a serial number.

2.???? Use R SPC Software. Input all deliverables, drawing variables, special notes and instruction given buy the contract or customer furnished gages or tools etc. When all the input is completed, a master document will be created by the program.

3.???? Help the NC/CNC machine programmer with the data to program the machine. There is an instruction on what kind of data need to use for the NC/CNC programming.

4.???? There are instructions on the capability of the machine under consideration for making the product under consideration, are covered in the Process mapping instructions.

5.???? Tooling and work holding technologies are the marvelous creativity of the shop foreman or the tool room manager.

6.???? Inspection tools and techniques are reflected in the process mapping sheet. Operator inspects that part and input in the program, that creates X-bar, R-Chart and Frequency distribution chart for that part being manufactured. Upper management and customers can access this document to check the quality status of the parts that are manufactured under this contract.

7.???? The same technique could be used for supply chain management, provided they follow the same process control techniques as is without any change.

8.???? This brings a closed loop communication management of quality, manufacturing, supplier management and the customer alike plus the company corporate community.

Transformational Quality Management System.

????????? It is a simple quality manual that describes the requirements for making critical components, any standards such as MIL-Q-9858, ISO 9001 and any other quality standards on calibration, process control etc. can be tailored according to the products the company makes. There is no need of ISO certification, what you need is a second party certification, that is your customer. If you use these simple process control techniques, you are creating a history in the manufacturing world.

To clean up all the mess, I would like to draw the attention of the US Senate/ Congress to include some paragraph into the outgoing Government contracts, like Aerospace, Defense, Space, Medical devices and General engineering or any other State or County contracts specifically say: Do not use ISO 9001 as a guidance to create Quality manual and Do not use SPC, Six Sigma or any other form of Statistics including sapling plan, if the contract reflects an Engineering model or an Engineering Drawing.

If the products are brand new, products are being designed from the data collected from the samples for example Covid-19, statistical application may be used to create the Base or Datum or Engineering model of that product. Once the product has been designed and proven to be the right product based on the test results, discontinue the use of statistics again, that will ruin the quality and integrity of the new product.
