New Tile Collection in Collaboration with Suzanne Sharp Studio

We are delighted to unveil our new cement tile collection in collaboration with Suzanne Sharp, co-founder of The Rug Company. The tiles are available in nine timeless designs in a series of unique colourways, created for a wide variety of interior settings and applications.

The story behind the collection began a decade ago when Suzanne started specifying our tiles for her interior projects. Our relationship has grown organically over the years through a shared love of quality, handmade design and desire to push creative boundaries.

Suzanne has consistently marvelled us with the colourful bespoke tile designs she created for her projects. Hence, when we felt it was the right moment for Mosaic Factory to enrich our own collections with tiles from the designers and artists who have always inspired us, we knew she would create a wonderful collection.

Her vast experience designing rugs gives her the spatial awareness that is essential when it comes to tile design. Her love for colour and pattern and her deep understanding for the handmade nature of our tiles and their heritage has made this the perfect partnership.

When approaching this project, Suzanne drew inspiration from memories of growing up in Malta and Rome where her love for intricate patterns and colour developed and instilled a lasting impression and influence on her design aesthetic. The collection was also inspired by the simplicity and clean lines of 1970s Italian design.

Suzanne set out to design a collection that was vibrant, incorporating bold and playful patterns and colours in unexpected ways. The new tiles feel both familiar and fresh, with a nod to the past whilst also embracing a contemporary aesthetic.

When selecting the colour palette for the tiles, Sharp took inspiration from her extensive travels and also looked to nature, incorporating earthy shades as well as brighter, more vibrant hues. The tones bring warmth and energy to a room whilst also creating a sense of calm and relaxation.
