New Three-Storey Commercial Building Approved in Brookswood
Langley Township council gave unanimous approval to a Brookswood three-storey commercial building on October 21. The building will rise on the corner of 208 Street and 42 Avenue, where a gas station once stood. The 43,900-square-foot structure, designed with a boomerang shape, will be constructed by Lynterra Developments and enhance the commercial offerings in the area.
This new Brookswood three-storey commercial building is expected to drive more foot traffic, especially with its proximity to the George Preston Recreation Centre. Local businesses will benefit from the increased visibility, making this development a key asset to Brookswood's growing economy.
Landscaping was a priority during the project discussions. The currently barren site will soon feature 33 trees surrounding the parking lot and the building. Councillor Michael Pratt recommended planting coniferous trees to match Brookswood’s natural environment. However, deciduous trees may also be planted in specific areas to prevent issues with root growth near structures.
By moving forward with the Brookswood three-storey commercial building, Langley Township balances development with environmental awareness. As Brookswood continues to evolve, this project will play an essential role in shaping the community's future.
