Storm WIP

Storm WIP

Storm is a complete end-to-end content creation and acceleration system for Unity. It works at both runtime and design time - the implication of this is that if you have the skills and the need, 100% runtime massive worlds are now possible... however, if you want to want a more traditional Unity workflow - then that is possible as well.

Storm is being battle-tested in its first metaverse project with TCG World now, rendering 900 sq km of content. There is much more still to come for this very cool project.

And with Storm v1 launching in January 2024, we are looking for our next major customers. Please message me if you have a project that needs a visual and performance boost. We will work with you to ensure that you get what you need!

Now onto the WIP!

In this WIP, we show the new terrain system for Storm. It can integrate with traditional Unity workflows and offer consistent render performance regardless of size.

This scene runs in HDRP in the editor at around 350 fps.

First - Procedural Snow!

There is more work to do here, it is already looking amazing...

Then Mesh Blending. The underlying approach means that providing color data to other systems makes mesh blending really easy.

And here, we have a Road... usual way, make meshes, deal with z-fighting in the distance, and then there is the cost of the meshes, which can be prohibitive!

Our approach is to bake it into the terrain, and let the terrain renderer do its magic... no z-fighting, no extra vertices, no extra shaders.

ZERO ADDITIONAL RENDER COST!

Now let's ingest a real-world environment from mapping data and add some vegetation...

Far view - mapping-based data

Have a look down at ground level.. procedural augmentation of mapping data.

And view it with a different feature set (biome)!

Another more stylized biome

What about Procedural Cities... yup!

Procedurally generated city

We have Procedural Dungeons, Buildings with interiors, and some very cool Generative AI integrations, all in various stages of completion.
