New technology quadruples the conductivity of 6G semiconductors
According to the Financial Associated Press, a research team from Osaka University, Mie University, and Cornell University in the United States has developed a semiconductor film formation technology for "6G". The research team developed a method to remove impurities generated during film formation, increasing the conductivity of the transistor material by about four times. It is planned to be used in industrial applications, such as power augmentation in high-speed wireless communication base stations.
Chip opportunities that the 6G trend will bring
6G is a new generation of mobile communication technology after 5G and is currently in the research stage.
6G technology will build an air-space-ground integration, endogenous intelligence, endogenous security, green and low-carbon network, with the ultimate performance of sub-millisecond air interface transmission delay, and comprehensive capabilities such as connection, computing, AI (artificial intelligence), etc. of integrated services.
Countries are catching up with each other in the field of communications
Whether it is China, the United States, the European Union or Japan and South Korea, the leading countries in the communication field are increasing their investment in 6G research and development. According to the current research and development goals, 6G is expected to achieve more than ten times the communication rate of 5G, and relevant standards are expected to be launched around 2026.
In terms of related applications, 6G is expected to continue the path of 5G, covering personal communications as well as IoT and smart industrial applications, including ultra-high-speed wireless access in factories
