New technologies for old problems, more service offerings?

Five years after purchasing Utopus Insights for?€80M, Vestas?is bringing the analytics firm's data modeling and predictive forecasting fully in-house, a move Vestas' Christian Venderby said?will?"revolutionize wind project servicing." Will it, really? And what does the move signal to operators, and other OEMs? Nortek has demonstrated how its Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) and other subsea tools provide vital conditions information; in this episode, learn how ADCP works and what it can do for offshore site investigations. Allen Hall , Rosemary Barnes , Joel Saxum and Philip Totaro also reconsider?segmented blades.?Where have they been tried before, and what has to happen for them to be implemented successfully??

And if you ever thought, Eureka! Urea might make a great anti-ice coating, sorry;?Fraunhofer researchers?beat you to it. Don't miss this week's episode with insight into these topics and more.?Also,?tune in for an excellent interview with?Josh Rangel,? founder and CEO of Rangel Renewables, as he shares hiring, training and development tips, thoughts on building a strong business, and his unique perspective on the state of wind energy.

Exciting to see the potential breakthroughs in deicing tech from BorealisWind, Wicetec, and Phazebreak Coatings, among others.

Rosemary Barnes thought the urea - wax deice coating had potential. Joel Saxum thought it should be fire hosed onto the blade. After all the years of development, deicing tech still feels like it is in the early design phase. BorealisWind, Wicetec, Phazebreak Coatings plus several others are getting larger trials and service time. Feels like a breakthrough is coming. Just need to get these technologies deployed on a larger scale to validate. Any volunteers?
