Earlier we have brought you the expected launches of MWC 2017, and now we have some more news on the story. Sony, Samsung, LG and even Xiaomi have changed their strategy with Xiaomi is going to skip the fair and Sony flexing its muscles. Things are changing with the blink of the eye companies checkmating the rival’s strategy. There is lot to happen in this arena before the actual war begins on February 27 in Barcelona. Here is list of recent developments. We also might see some apps from top app development companies to enhance the usability of new devices.
Sony
The biggest news is that Sony is going to launch 5 Xperia devices in Spain, earlier it was expected to launch 2. The flagship Xperia device which is codenamed “Yoshino” is coming with 5.5 inch 4K display, running on snapdragon 835 SoC. Another smartphone codenamed “BlancBright” featuring snapdragon 835 of snapdragon 635 along with 4GB of RAM. “Keyaki” and “Hinoki” are also lined up. The leak comes from Sumaho Info. With these products lined up for the launch, Sony is expecting to gain market momentum. However, it is uncertain that Sony will release these phones in MWC or just showcase them and save them for launch later this year.
Samsung
Sadly, Samsung is not coming in MWC 2017 as confirmed by Samsung. Samsung seems in no hurry; it will take its time to develop a safe product after the embracement of explosions in Samsung devices. It is rumoured that Samsung Galaxy S8 will hit the market in April. And Samsung have nothing else to display.
LG
With the absence of Galaxy S8, the star attraction of the party will be LG G6. This time LG will move on from the modular design to sleek and slim phone. The aspect ratio is expected to be 2:1 for better multitasking. Rumours suggest that LG may also showcase smartwatches running on Android Wear 2.0. Last year LG presented itself with drone controller, rolling robot and 360 CAM. We hope to see things like that this year too.
HTC
Last year HTC launches were predicted with the leaks, but this time the Taiwanese giant is keeping the curtain low. HTC 10 was launched during MWC 2016 followed by U Ultra at CES 2016. This year it might be…. yeah you guessed it HTC 11. Coming with a whopping 8 GB RAM and Snapdragon 835 chipset with a QHD display. Any update on VR will be surprising from HTC.
Huawei
The company has a press event scheduled for 26th of Feb. Where the successor of P9, likely to be named as P10 might be launched. We hope that Huawei might continue with dual lens camera with a 5.5 inches QHD display. Huawei has already confirmed in CES this year that P10 will be featuring Amazon’s Alexa AI along with Google’s Daydream VR.
Conclusion
MWC is the biggest tech event of the year after CES. Although Xiaomi is not featuring this year after Samsung. Still it’s going to be hard party and full of tech launched from the giants and other companies. Top app development services may also be looking into the event so as to put some amazing apps on shelves after MWC 2017.
